As they say, "Nothing is set in stone"
But still there are some things that you really can't just drop and run away from. If 'nothing' was set in stone you could drop your entire life and everything in it and run away. Unfortunately as much as that seems like it would be an excellent solution to a lot of problems, it is impossible.
Imagine having the power to disappear completely. Never turn up to school, never show up to work, never come home, abandon your partner, desert your friends, disappear. That sounds terrible, but we've all thought about it. When stuff gets hard and things suck and people are shit you just want all your problems to disappear and you know that they won't so you think about disappearing yourself. You know you've done it, at least once.
Could you really do it though? Could you? Abandon everything your life and leave?
Tomorrow morning you wake up, go to the bank, take all the money you have, pack your bags of clothes, jump on a plane and leave. No notice, don't tell anyone, just.. leave. Leave forever? or come back? What would you tell people if you disappeared for 5 years and then just turned up out of the blue one day. What would you tell them?
"Well you know things were shit, so I left."
And really, would it be such a bad thing? Start a whole new life again. I'm sure everyone could imagine ditching their jobs quite easily but could you abandon your family and friends?
This blog is just a massive wild tangent really.
Stone. Back to things being set in stone. The saying is true, things aren't set in stone. You have the power to alter your own your own life and choose whichever path you want. Your life is in your hands really. Your choices pave the path that is 'your' life. Things are not set in stone however this does not mean you can ignore them, abandon them, destroy them.
Friendships are not set in stone, doesn't mean you can ignore them? Regardless we still do.
Relationships are not set in stone, doesn't mean you can abandon them? Regardless we still do.
Nothing is set in stone, but in the end it doesn't mean you can treat it like shit and abuse that statement.
So really, nothing is set in stone. Let's leave it at that. Nothing is set in stone, especially not your destiny. Your life is what you make of it, every decision, every chance, every risk, everything.
You, control your life.
